Robert Coleman Williams

Born Bridgend, Glamorgan, Wales, 4 January 1940, third son of Gus and Annie Williams. Educated at Cowbridge School and Jesus College, Oxford (MA [Oxon], MPhil, PhD, FGS). Taught at College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts, and Trinity College, Carmarthen. Headmaster of secondary schools in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and Turks and Caicos Islands. Management consultant. Special Economic Advisor to King Hussein of Jordan. Published Mr. Books and Little Miss Books. Trained as a Pilot, RAFVR. Served T.A. and T.A.V.R. Colonel Commandant of Cadets of County of Carmarthen. Civil Secretary, Sultan of Oman’s Air Force (Wing Commander) at close of Dhofar War. Chairman of SSAFA in the Republic of Ireland. Volume of poems Ladycross published Fantasy Press, Oxford, 1962; Concordance to the Collected Poems of Dylan Thomas, published by University of Nebraska Press, 1967; Budget for the Air Defence of Oman (classified ‘Secret’), published Oman 1977; and In This Book and Other Poems, published by DWM Press in 2018. 

Has lived in Wales, London, West Yorkshire, the United States, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Oman, Italy, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Éire. Married to Diana Temple; three sons, two daughters, and nine grandchildren.
